If you thought the starting lineup for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds was already packed, Sega is about to make your character select screen even more chaotic. The developers just dropped a brand new trailer revealing the next wave of completely free playable racers, and they are pulling from some of the absolute best franchises in their catalog.

Whether you are drifting through Metal Harbor or boosting across the Travel Rings into another dimension, the competition is getting a massive upgrade over the next two months. Let us break down exactly who is joining the race and what they are bringing to the garage.

The New Challengers

Sega is absolutely not holding back with these crossovers. We are getting a mix of legendary mobile icons, classic puzzle masters, and the absolute wildest member of the Yakuza.

• Red: Launching in April 2026, the poster child for Angry Birds is officially taking the wheel. He is bringing his signature Super Roaster vehicle to the track, and his character model is actually based on his incredible animated movie design rather than the classic pixelated mobile sprites.
• Goro Majima: The Mad Dog of Shimano is ready to race! Also arriving in April 2026, Captain Majima is stepping straight out of Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii to terrorize the track in his custom Goromaru vehicle.
• Arle: Releasing in May 2026, the absolute legend from the Puyo Puyo series is finally making her kart racing debut. She will be dominating the corners in her magical Twinkle Bayoen kart.

Nostalgic Arcade Beats

Beyond the new characters, the developers are also throwing in a massive audio update specifically for the classic arcade racing fans. They are dropping eight brand new songs into the in game jukebox, completely free of charge. You can finally blast Magical Sound Shower from Outrun or Let Us Go Away from Daytona USA while you are leaving the competition in the dust.
