Hideo Kojima is about to consume our free time once again. Following its massive PlayStation 5 launch last summer, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is officially making the jump to PC on March 19, 2026. Kojima Productions just dropped a new trailer showcasing what porters can expect, and it looks like the ultimate version of the Australian wasteland is almost here.
If you spent way too many late nights building zipline networks in the first game, you already know this sequel is built different. The new focus on dynamic combat and navigating natural disasters like forest fires makes the delivery grind significantly more intense. This upcoming update is looking to polish the experience even further across the board.
If you are worried about whether your rig can handle the Decima engine, you can breathe easy. The hardware requirements are shockingly forgiving compared to recent unoptimized PC ports. ➜ Minimum Specs: You can hit 1080p at 30 FPS with just an Intel Core i3 and an NVIDIA GTX 1660. ➜ Recommended Specs: For 1440p at 60 FPS, you will need a Ryzen 7 5700X and an RTX 3070.
The real magic lies in the upscaling technology. The PC port fully supports the brand new NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 via an app override. The standout feature, however, is the debut of Pico (Progressive Image Compositor). Developed by Guerrilla Games, this is the exact same proprietary upscaling tech used to make the PS5 version look so flawless, now fully unlocked for PC hardware.
The deliveries are not just about boxes of chiral tech anymore. One of the wildest mechanics making its way to PC is the inclusion of native Australian wildlife. You will be actively tracking down kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and quokkas out in the outback.
Using your Odradek scanner, you can locate these endangered critters, carefully pack them into specialized breathable cargo cases, and transport them to the Animal Shelter—which is canonically run by the real-world synth-pop band CHVRCHES. Be warned: the wildlife can die if caught in a Timefall storm or if you accidentally hit them with your Tri-Cruiser. The game even lets you build holographic graves for fallen animals, adding a whole new layer of guilt to your cross-country road trips.
Kojima Productions also just dropped a brand new trailer highlighting the VR Training Mode. Since combat is much heavier this time around with the new Mech soldiers and aggressive BTs, this mode lets you test out weapons and gear in a simulated environment before risking your cargo in the real world.
PlayStation 5 players aren’t being left behind, either. On March 19, the PS5 version is receiving a massive free update alongside the PC launch. This patch introduces the highly requested 21:9 UltraWidescreen support, giving you a wider field of view with cinematic black bars. The update also promises new game modes, fresh challenges, and some exclusive PlayStation-themed cosmetic patches for your suit.
The Decima engine continues to be the most impressive piece of software in the gaming industry right now. Getting an open-world game that looks this gorgeous to run smoothly on older hardware is basically witchcraft. Whether you are prepping your PC for a 4K playthrough, saving digital kangaroos, or waiting for the PS5 ultrawide update, this is the perfect excuse to reconnect the network. Just remember to pack extra blood bags before you head into the outback.
For BREAK THE META, this is WILD SURF. Catch you on the next drop. 🌊🏄♂️
