Get‌ ‌Ready!‌ ‌Black‌ ‌Cat‌ ‌is‌ ‌coming‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌Spidey‌ ‌Sony‌ ‌Movie‌-Verse‌

There have always been rumors that Sony is working on a Black Cat film. Movie executives considered various interpretations of the Spider-Man character, but the project was dogged by setbacks over time. Several scripts were passed on by the studio, including the well-publicized collaboration with Silver Sable. As a result, Black Cat has never been seen on the big screen until now.

According to That Hashtag Show, Sony officials are once again considering a Black Cat film. The most recent script offering is said to have been written by an indie writer-director who had a successful debut in 2017 and is expected to have an even better year in 2019.

Following Felicia Hardy‘s time with her father Walter, the film will purportedly be an origin story for the Spider-Man persona. She’ll be left to fight for herself once he vanishes, and she’ll eventually uncover a much broader workplace plot. Chameleon is considered to be the main enemy, and Blaze is reported to be the Enforcer.

Because the film is an adaptation and not a reproduction of the comic book character, some elements of the original tale may change, according to the magazine. Although the project is still in its early phases, the studio is claimed to have a few performers in mind for certain roles. Sony is interested in recasting Felicity Jones in the lead role. However, there will be no direct relationship to The Amazing Spider-Man series, and this will be treated as a stand-alone project for now.

Black Cat debuted in 1979’s The Amazing Spider-Man #194, created by Marv Wolfman and Dave Cockrum. Felicia Hardy has been an antagonist, a love interest, and an ally of the legendary web-slinger throughout her life.

Felicia trained in several martial styles and acrobatics after a distressing event as a college student. She eventually decides to follow in her father’s footsteps as a cat burglar and adopts the alias Black Cat.

Her character did take more of a villainous turn when she was beaten and betrayed by Spiderman when Doctor Octopus had taken over the mind and body of Peter Parker. For more check out Marvel’s Wiki on Black Cat here at:
