Drop The Beat: VALORANT Officially Unveils Miks at Masters Santiago

If you caught our earlier coverage on the rumored Agent 30, it turns out the leaks were incredibly accurate. Riot Games officially closed out the massive VALORANT Masters Santiago Grand Finals this weekend by pulling the curtain back on the newest addition to the roster. Say goodbye to the codenames, because Miks is officially here to completely change the tempo of the game.

Hailing from Croatia, Miks is a music obsessed Controller who is bringing an entirely new support dynamic to the tactical shooter. For the first time ever, we are getting a smoke agent who can actively heal their squad.

Let us break down everything you need to know about his sonic arsenal before he drops later this week.

The Sonic Arsenal

The developers explicitly stated that Miks is designed for the socially motivated player. If you love playing a supportive role but still want to heavily influence the pace of a firefight, his kit is an absolute dream.

Here is exactly what Miks is bringing to the server:

  • Waveform: This is your standard Controller utility. Miks uses a map targeter to place hollow smokes across the map, operating very similarly to Omen or Clove, to block sightlines and carve out space for his team.
  • Harmonize: This ability is going to create some absolute monsters in the duelist role. You target an ally and grant both of you a powerful Combat Stim that increases movement speed, fire rate, and weapon handling. The craziest part? The stim completely refreshes if either of you secures a kill.
  • M-Pulse: This is a highly versatile thrown device that comes with two distinct modes. You can toggle it to send out sonic waves that either concuss enemies hiding in corners, or actively heal your teammates right through the walls.
  • Bassquake (Ultimate): Miks unleashes a massive forward traveling shockwave of pure sonic radiance. Any enemy caught in the blast gets knocked back, slowed, and completely deafened, making it the perfect tool to violently clear out a heavily defended bomb site.

The Clarity Remix

Riot never misses when it comes to audio design, and they went all out for Miks. His character design features wave patterns on his outfit and festival wristbands, heavily inspired by the underground EDM scene. To perfectly match his vibe, the official reveal trailer was entirely scored by a brand new, high energy remix of Zedd’s iconic track “Clarity,” produced by BUNT. The developers even confirmed they built his gameplay sound effects by extracting elements directly from the music tracks they composed for him.

It is incredibly refreshing to see Riot blend the strict map control of the Controller class with the raw utility of an Initiator or Sentinel. Giving players the option to choose between concussing a choke point or healing a teammate on the fly adds a massive layer of strategic depth.

Miks officially goes live on March 18, 2026, launching alongside Season 2026 Act 2, the new Knockout mode, and the Blackthorn cosmetic collection. Get your competitive squad ready, because the meta is about to shift drastically.

For BREAK THE META, this is WILD SURF. Catch you on the next drop!
