Team Ninja and PlatinumGames are teaming up again to absolutely punish our thumbs. The highly anticipated The Two Masters DLC for Ninja Gaiden 4 just launched today, March 4, 2026, and it is bringing a massive wave of post-game content designed to test your reflexes. If you thought the base campaign was a grind, you haven’t seen anything yet.
The new expansion takes place after the events of the main game, dropping players into a sun-basked Tokyo that has finally been cleared of the Dark Dragon’s miasma. But the peace doesn’t last long. You will be playing through three all-new story chapters as Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa team up to stop a brand new threat: the Archfiend Seere.
To deal with this new demonic flood, both protagonists are getting some serious hardware upgrades that unlock immediately upon downloading:
➜ Yakumo’s Solitaire: A massive, double-bladed war scythe designed for crowd control and keeping enemies at a distance.
➜ Ryu’s Jakotsumon: A pair of serpent gauntlets that allow for hyper-aggressive, rapid close-quarters strikes.
For the true masochists, the DLC introduces Abyssal Road, a brutal 100-floor endurance gauntlet. You will start on Normal difficulty and slowly descend into absolute madness, with the final floors locking you into Master Ninja difficulty against endless waves of enemies.
Even if you don’t drop the $14.99 for the expansion (which is included for free if you own the Deluxe Edition), everyone gets a massive free quality-of-life update today. Patch 1.004.000 adds a highly requested Weapon Sets feature to customize your quick-select wheel, drastically reduced loading times, and a new option to skip the death sequence so you can get right back into the fight.
Combining Team Ninja’s relentless enemy design with PlatinumGames’ stylish combat engine was already a stroke of genius, but this DLC pushes it over the edge. The Abyssal Road alone is going to consume hundreds of hours for the hardcore community. Plus, getting to take the new Jakotsumon gauntlets back into the main campaign adds a ton of replay value. If your controllers survived the base game, it is time to put them back in the danger zone.
For BREAK THE META, this is WILD SURF. Catch you on the next drop. 🌊🏄♂️
