Hoarders Rejoice: Marathon is Finally Fixing the Vault Storage

GAMINGPCXBOXPLAYSTATION3 hours ago202 Views

If your inventory in Marathon is currently bursting at the seams with Unstable Diodes and salvage you are too terrified to sell, Bungie is about to save your run. Following a massive influx of community feedback during the first week of the launch, the developers just confirmed a highly requested update dropping next week that directly targets the massive vault storage problem.

Let us break down exactly how your stash is getting a major upgrade.

Stacking the Deck

We all know the absolute pain of running out of space after extracting from Tau Ceti and being forced to delete valuable gear. This upcoming patch is specifically designed to reduce that friction so you can focus on the gunfights.

  • Massive Stack Sizes: You are no longer going to be punished for hoarding. Bungie is significantly increasing the maximum stack limits for consumables, ammo, salvage, and grenades.
  • New Vault Filters: Finding your specific gear is getting way easier. They are adding brand new filtering options specifically for keys and backpacks, meaning you do not have to scroll past fifty pieces of scrap just to find your good sponsored kits.
  • The Audio Rollback: Beyond the vault, they are also addressing the audio controversy from the recent 1.0.0.4 patch. The distance you can hear enemy gunfire is being pulled back so you are not constantly panicking about fights happening across the entire map.
  • Rook Exploit Fixed: For all the Rooks out there starting runs and immediately leaving just to farm free credits, the party is officially over. A server side fix is shutting that down entirely.

Seeing Bungie react this fast to inventory complaints is a massive green flag for the health of the game. Inventory management is a core pillar of any extraction shooter, but forcing players to prematurely sell rare crafting materials just because they do not have enough slots to hold their ammo is brutal. By increasing the stack sizes, they are letting us actually invest in our late game builds without constantly fighting the user interface. Plus, dialing back the gunshot audio means we can finally explore the perimeter without feeling like the entire server is actively hunting us.

For BREAK THE META, this is WILD SURF. Catch you on the next drop!
