The Cosmic Carnival: Honkai Star Rail Drops Version 4.1 Unraveled for Daybreak

If you have been saving up your Stellar Jades and waiting for the absolute perfect time to pull, HoYoverse just gave you the ultimate excuse. Following a massive special program livestream, the developers officially announced that Honkai Star Rail Version 4.1, titled Unraveled for Daybreak, is officially launching on March 25!

We are heading back to the incredibly chaotic world of Planarcadia, and the Astral Express Crew has been formally invited to the Star Rail FEST. It is basically a massive in universe fan convention celebrating our past adventures, but because this is Star Rail, a sinister conspiracy is already brewing beneath the surface of the celebration.

The Detective Arrives

The absolute star of the show for this update is the brand new five star character, Ashveil. Do not let his lazy attitude fool you, because his kit is completely lethal.

• The Path of The Hunt: Ashveil is a Lightning Type damage dealer who thrives on single target execution.
• The Bait Mechanic: When he enters combat, he boosts the critical damage of your entire team and designates one specific enemy as the Bait. As long as that target is on the field, the defense of all enemies is permanently reduced.
• Skill Point Economy: When Ashveil uses his skill on the Bait, he deals massive extra damage and actually recovers skill points for the entire squad, making him incredibly efficient to run.
• The Reruns: If you are not pulling for the detective, the update is also bringing highly anticipated rerun banners for the top tier support Hyacine and the physical break damage king Boothill.

Wispae Wars and The Divergent Universe

Beyond the main story quest, the developers are packing this patch with some incredibly deep new game modes to keep the endgame community busy.

• Wispae War Saga: This is a brand new tactical mini game taking place in the Graphia Academy. You will lead your own custom squad of wispae soldiers into battle, utilizing unique spell cards and capsules to defeat champions and capture new monster companions.
• Arcadian Chronicles: The Divergent Universe is getting a massive reset and expansion. You can now use Waypoint Pass cards to freely choose which regions you explore, and they are introducing a brand new Mask of Elation upgrade tree to unlock even more stellar rewards.
• The Login Bonus: As always, HoYoverse is hooking everyone up with a free ten pull event just for logging into the game during the launch window.

Seeing the developers lean into a literal anime convention setting with giant parade balloons of former bosses like Cocolia is such a brilliant way to celebrate the history of the game. Ashveil looks absolutely broken for single target endgame content, and his ability to refund skill points is going to make him a staple in speed running compositions. Having Boothill finally escape the rerun waiting room is also a massive win for the break effect meta!
